Four+Fun+Alternatives+to+Valentine%E2%80%99s+Day

The pressure of Valentine’s Day does not have to be a bad thing. To many couples, Valentine’s Day is another day to celebrate the love they have for each other. However, the day does not just have to be about the love you have for someone else, it can also be about the love you have for yourself.

Being single on Valentine’s Day is okay, there are alternative ways you can spend the day without a significant other.

Wine Wednesday.

This year, Valentine’s Day happens to fall on the beloved day of the week, so get a group of your favorite girls together and have yourself a little Galentine’s Day. Galentine’s Day is a way for girls to love their friends and celebrate each other.

“I think Galentine’s Day is fun because you get to go out with your friends and treat yo’ self,” Emma Jean said, a freshman business major at Colorado State University.

Go buy a bunch of chocolate and watch romantic comedies.

If chocolate is not the best option, pick up a bag of chips and eat it all by yourself. Or, the most alternative route, wait until the day after Valentine’s Day and buy the candy for half off.

Host a Valentine’s Day party with your friends.

You and all your closest friends can exchange Valentine’s Day cards and candies while taking a stroll down memory lane. It might seem childish, but it can be a way to get all your friends together and have fun.

Go to a movie and grab a big bucket of popcorn.

Go see a funny or a romantic movie and make a night of it.

___________

Valentine’s Day can be a fun day to treat yourself and your friends. Spread the love!
