- Geeks Who Drink
Step into buzzing Fort Collins venues as the “Geeks Who Drink” event transforms local hangouts into trivia battlefields. You can expect the clink of glasses and laughter to fill the air as teams huddle together working away on questions that range from everything from geography to pop culture, science to sports, and even the Billboard Hot 100. Bring your friends and test your knowledge! You can find times and locations on their website.
2. Live Music
Every Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., The Gilded Goat Brewing comes alive with the strum of guitars and the soft murmurs of conversation. Come relax on their softly lit, dog-friendly patio (weather permitting) or sit inside their cozy tap room where talented local artists fill the space with all genres of music. Featured local artists include Chelsea Twist, who plays emo folk rock, or Denny Driscoll, an acoustic musician known for his americana-style tunes.
- Weekend Toons
Speaking of “toons,” every Saturday and Sunday at 10:00 am, relive your childhood at The Lyric with “all the animated outrageousness you can handle,” according to their website. Hang out with Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and all your other favorites, and don’t miss their build-your-own cereal bar, mimosas, and other special breakfast treats. Join them for a nostalgic morning of fun!
- Bingo Thursdays
Thursday nights, Breckenridge Brewery buzzes with anticipation as the caller’s voice echoes numbers through the venue. Everyone sits on the edge of their seat, enjoying a fresh pint and keenly listening to see if the next number will complete a line on their bingo card. This locally-sponsored event is family friendly and sponsored by other local businesses, so whether you’re new to bingo or a seasoned number-tracking expert, you’ll feel the community embrace you the second you walk in the door.
- Museum Exhibition: Sailors’ Fashion and American Women’s Fashion
Every Tuesday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m to 4 p.m., stroll through the Avenior Museum of Design and Merchandising to wonder at the newly-installed (and longstanding) exhibits. As of January 27, you can travel back to the 1900s through the Anchors Aweigh exhibit, featuring pieces that explore how naval heritage has impacted fashion, or creep through “The Fashion ‘Bug’” gallery, which focuses on the intersection of insects on textiles. This museum hosts tons of other free events, which you can find on this page of their website.
