Despite the sharp cold on Nov 8., crowds of students gathered to celebrate CSU’s Snow Days and on-campus Rail Jam, which is partially facilitated by the Snowriders club (along with a number of other organizations). After a 15-year hiatus, Snow Days returned in 2024 as a winter tradition. This chilly event isn’t just open to CSU students, but to all community members who look forward to the live music, vendors, and main event: the Rail Jam. As students huddled around the outdoor heaters, other participating students competed. The snowboarders/skiers showcased their tricks while being judged by a panel of Snowriders members. Due to the lack of snow this year, members spent hours before the event blowing snow and constructing the mini terrain park. The Rail Jam featured two different rails and a ramp that was open to student use. Excitingly, the Snowriders club also held a giveaway, where they offered up multiple, notoriously expensive, Ikon passes. 2025 Snow Days provided students a chance to welcome the winter season with a strong sense of CSU community, the thrill of competition, and the comfort of our close-knit campus.
